Imagine Living a Friesian Fantasy

Dream Gait Friesians began as a horse lovers wish for “Some Day”. “Some Day” I will have a place, called Dream Gait Acres. A place where I can have a horse. “Some Day” I will have a Friesian. “Some Day”...

In 2007 that wish became an idea that seemed to take on a life of its own. Today, in 2011, my life is my ultimate horse fantasy.

My friesians have been handpicked for what I envisioned them to bring to our farm. Each with unique personalities and that wonderful temperament that friesians are so famous for. Breeding, Showing & Promoting the KFPS registered Friesian Horse are our goals. We feel proud and privileged to have many fine ambassadors of the breed.

We were excited to participate in our first “Equine Affaire” in April of 2010. I have attended many equine affaires. But it was a really special moment to be there this year with 3 of my friesians. It was our official “coming out” as Dream Gait Friesians and I couldn’t have been more proud. We are looking forward to 2011's Equine Affaire!

Parades give us another way to show and share with the public our beautiful friesian horses. We have been in the 2009 & 2010 Lebanon Ohio all horse drawn carriage Christmas parade. We were part of a group of friesians, representing the Ohio Valley Friesian Horse Association, invited to participate in The Pegasus Parade held in Louisville Kentucky during the 2010 Kentucky Derby Festival. As well as Delaware Ohio's All Horse Parade in September 2010.

We can also be found in the show ring. Our mare, Zenobia De Perior, competed in the 25th Anniversary FHANA show, held in October 2009, in Reno Nevada. In the mares open english pleasure, she won the blue ribbon placing over 16 other entries! We have had fun showing at the Ohio Valley Friesian Horse Classic held during the Ohio State Fair. We have even been seen at an all breed open show or two.

The same horses that enjoy the show ring are just as pleasurable on the trail. Don' t be surprised to see us out trail riding! My husband Jerry and I love to take a couple of them camping, when we get the chance.

When we first started to build Dream Gait Friesians, our main goal was to be known for breeding quality friesian foals. Last year (2010) was our first breeding season. We are excited to announce we are expecting 4 foals for our first foaling season in 2011.

We want to keep our numbers small to ensure that all our horses get individual, positive & loving attention daily. Our horses affection for people never ceases to amaze everyone who meets them.

Being a part of Promoting, Showing & Breeding this breathtaking breed, I am truly living a Friesian Fantasy.
